We collect no banking data on this site. Payment happens outside it, through the bank or the payment provider, and we never see your card number.

02The placement test

The placement test runs in your browser: questions are shown and your result is calculated on your device, and your answers are not sent anywhere one by one.

When you type your name and WhatsApp number to see your result, we receive one line at that moment, stored on our website's server: your name, number, level, number of correct answers, suggested group, test time, and the ad campaign you came from if any. We use it to call you about the nearest group for your level.

Your answer log is stored with it: which questions you were shown, whether each answer was right, wrong or "I don't know", and how long you took on each. We use it for one thing: measuring each question's real difficulty from students' answers instead of guessing it, so placement gets more accurate for those who come after you.

The text of the questions you saw is not stored, only an internal ID for each question. Your IP address is not stored either: we keep only a hashed version of it to block repeated automated submissions.

If you close the page before typing your name and number, we receive nothing and do not even know you took the test.

Pressing the button to send your result on WhatsApp is optional, and opens a chat with us like any other message.

03The registration form

The registration form opens from the Register now button on the programmes and prices page, and serves all five programmes. It collects: your name, WhatsApp number, email (optional), level, programme, start date, preferred time to call and your notes.

Depending on the programme, it adds: the child's age for the kids programme; the exam version, target band and test date for IELTS; your job title, company name and team size for Business English if you enrol through a company.

When you press send, what you filled in is stored on our website's server, and a ready WhatsApp message opens for you to send yourself. Nothing is stored until you press send.

While you are typing and have not pressed send, the form runs only in your browser and nothing reaches us. If you close the page before sending, we do not even know you opened the form.

Agreeing to this policy and to contact on WhatsApp is required to complete the form. For Business English, a separate acknowledgement is asked that simulations and presentations are recorded in class for assessment. For the kids programme, the parent confirms they are enrolling on the child's behalf.

04How we use it

  1. Organising sessions and groups, and contacting you about them.
  2. Telling you when a group that fits your level is starting.
  3. Issuing receipts and certificates.
  4. Improving the course internally based on assessment results.

We do not use your data for targeted ads, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

05Who we share it with

  1. Your teacher: name, level and attendance only, as much as she needs to teach you.
  2. Technical service providers: WhatsApp (Meta) for messages, Google Meet for sessions, and our website host. Each is bound by its own privacy policy.
  3. Meta, for ad measurement: site browsing data only (not your name or number), through the Meta Pixel. Details in the cookies and tracking section.
  4. When the law requires: on an official request from a competent judicial or administrative authority.

We share your data with no one else.

06How long we keep it

  1. Enrolled students' data: for the length of your studies and afterwards for as long as accounting and tax obligations require.
  2. Data of someone who asked but did not enrol: deleted on request, or after a reasonable time since the last contact.
  3. Payment documents: kept for the legal period and cannot be deleted on request.

07Your rights

Under Organic Law no. 63 of 2004 on the protection of personal data in Tunisia, you may:

  1. See the data we hold about you.
  2. Ask us to correct anything wrong.
  3. Ask us to delete it, except what accounting requires us to keep.
  4. Withdraw your consent to marketing contact at any time.
To use any of these rights, write to contact@ethanna.com or WhatsApp +216 93 758 949. We reply within a reasonable time.

09Cookies and tracking

This site uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure the results of our ads.

What it sends: the pages you visited on this site, your IP address (which indicates your approximate location), and your device and browser type. It does not send your name, phone number or test result. It tells us you started the test, finished it, and how many questions you answered, without the result itself.

Why we use it: to know which ad actually brought students instead of spending blindly, and to reach people similar to our current students.

How to stop it: block third-party cookies in your browser settings, use private browsing, or change ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account. Meta's processing of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Apart from that, two things are stored in your browser: your choice of dark or light mode, which stays on your device and never reaches us; and the name of the ad campaign you came from, kept for the session only and erased when you close the browser, and attached to your request if you send one so we know which ad brought you.

10Security

We limit how many people at Ethanna can see student data, and the site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Even so, no one can guarantee absolute security online, and we make no such guarantee.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date at the top. Significant changes are announced to enrolled students.

A question about these terms?

Message us before you enrol. We answer clearly.
